Lead and Supporting Cast

The Towel Boy is filled with an incredible array of colorful, quirky, and entertaining characters. All of them a tad on the wacky side. The fine people bringing these characters to life come from all over, but have been brought together to bring our story to life. Read on to learn a lttle more about them.



Stephen Sugay

as Henry De La Verga

Stephen studied acting at UC Davis and University of San Francisco while earning a degree in teaching. In addition to being a teacher, where his impeccable comic timing comes in handy, he has performed in multiple independent films, stage plays, television commercials, and industrials.






Melissa Quine

as Larissa Wacker

Melissa, hailing from Massachusetts, graduated from The University of Vermont and earned her B.A. in Performing Arts, a degree her parents call glorified make-believing. She has acted throughout the Bay Area, playing many a man's love interest, and has performed in multiple stage productions, independent films, television ads, and print campaigns. She would like to offer her thanks to Michael and her ever supportive family.



Mitch Costanza

as Willie Jackson

Mitch is an experienced Bay Area actor having studied method acting in Santa Barbara and San Francisco. He's performed in multiple stage plays and independent films as well as commercials for Honda and Lipton. He can currently be seen in the Violent Jake webisode series.






Jenna Davi

as Helen Chattersly

Jenna was born and raised in the Bay Area before beginning her training in Orange County and Los Angeles where she performed in several musical productions, plays, and was seen on film and television. Some of her favorite roles include Maria in West Side Story, Barbara in Run for Your Wife and singing and dancing for Bravo!, an entertainment company in Southern California. She spent the past year in Vienna, Austria studying Opera and the German language.



Gregory Bedford

as Vladimir the Bookie

Gregory is an accomplished actor and member of the Screen Actors Guild. He studied acting and stand up comedy for years and has appeared in many stage productions, independent and major studio films, including Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and has performed voice over work in multiple video games including Star Wars and Jurassic Park games.




Maria Picar

as Mom De La Verga

Maria is a working actress, producer, and special event coordinator who started acting when she took voice-over classes from Elaine Clark at Voice One. She has done commercials for Magnolia Ice-Cream, Public Service Announcements for API Wellness and Level Playing Field, and acted in numerous independent short films including films produced for The 48 Hour Film Challenge, The National Film Challenge, and The Three Minute Film Festival. She recently started Asian Mainstream Productions with fellow producers Kim Bowman and Larry Kitigawa.


Rick Lasquete

as Dad De La Verga

Rick is a professional stage and film actor and singer in the Bay Area. His recent stage credits include being in the original cast of the new musical Sweetie Tanya: The Demon Barista of Valencia Street and a successful run as Dale Harding in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in the South Bay in 2007. He is also a commercial print model with City Models Management in San Francisco and a cabaret singer, having written and performed shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He can also be seen in two other independent films scheduled for release in 2009, Dai Lo and Flight To Sinai.


Johnnie Rodriguez

as Grandpa De La Verga

Johnnie has been acting for many years. He performed in his first play at the age of six, portraying a fairy (the magical kind). He has performed in numerous stage plays, independent films, television programs, television commercials, and industrial films. Johnnie is now an older and wiser man and hopes to understand the complex process of acting soon.





Hunter Vo

as Jorge De La Verga

Hunter studied acting at the Foothill Theatre Conservatory and is a native of the Bay Area. His film credits include Dumbarton Bridge, Kung Phooey, Haunted Drawers, and the upcoming All About Dad which will be premiering in several film festivals in 2009. He has also performed on stage in The Baddest of Boys at the Cowell Theater, and The Goodguys (An American Tragedy) at the University of Massachusetts, Summer Festival. Hunter also appeared in the television show Nash Bridges and will have a recurring role in the cop show webisode series GUNN.


Derrick Scott

as Phil the Gay Giant

Derrick lives, and operates a business, in San Francisco. He has appeared on stage in several independent productions, including a play he authored in 1999, Terms of Entanglement. Terms of Entanglement was also staged at the 1999 Edinburg Fringe Festival.






Doug Farrell

as Joey the Angry Gay Midget

Doug is a Bay Area actor, stunt man, and sports photographer. He has performed in multiple major studio films including Batman Returns, Return of the Jedi, Invaders from Mars, and Willow. He also runs two Bay Area sports sites Raider Drive and Bay Area Sports Drive and does celebrity interviews for Sacramento News 10.





Ricky Saenz

as The Gay Cholo

Ricky is a Bay Area film and stage actor, having studied multiple acting disciplines, as well as a stand up comic. He has performed in multiple independent and major studio films including Milk, television shows including Journeyman, and a television commercial for Microsoft. He has also performed in numerous theater productions. He can also be seen internationally performing in Nicaragua.




Charles Lewis

as The Jizz Mopper

Charles has studied acting for many years and has performed in many independent and major studio films having been featured in The Kite Runner and Four Christmases. He has performed in many theater productions, television programs, and television commercials, including Intel and Cisco Systems.





B. Warden Lawlor

as Yakmayoff Pooshinin

Warden is a native San Franciscan. He studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, and has worked with some of the Bay Area's finest companies such as No Nude Men Productions, Thunderbird Theater Co., AtmosTheater, Impact Theater, and the BOA Theater Festival.






Don DeMico

as The Bathhouse Czar

Don DeMico has been active in film and theater for almost 30 years in the Bay Area, New York, and Los Angeles. He has worked in everything from no budget to major studio films and was a photo double for Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets. He has played a wide range of characters from cops to wise guys to comical dads and wacky neighbors. And he loves working in comedy.
